Pictures at Oak Point State Park

The smallest Ohio State Park occupies just 1.5 acres on Ohio's most visited Lake Erie island - South Bass. This is debatably the most visited location to photograph the historic Perry's Victory Peace Memorial.

Despite its small size, Oak Point State Park's location provides panoramic views of the bustling Put-in-Bay harbor and surrounding attractions including Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial, Stone Lab on Gibraltar Island and the Aquatic Visitors Center.

The park, located on Bayview Drive (State Route 357) in Put-in-Bay Township, is a half-mile walk west from downtown Put-in-Bay. This day-use park offers a picnic area, fishing access, overnight docking facilities, a small parking lot, restrooms and a vending machine.

The park occupies a triangular piece of land that points into the harbor toward Gibraltar Island. The north face of the triangle is lined with a bulkhead and topped with a narrow sidewalk suitable to fish from. The south face is lined with boat slips.

Oak Point State Park is one of the five state parks on Ohio's Lake Erie islands. The other island state parks include Kelleys, Middle Bass, North Bass and South Bass. Green Island, located west of South Bass Island, is a state wildlife refuge that is accessible by permit only.
